So i went to the Business Objects Christmas party. It wasn't anything too special but it was a lot of fun none-the-less... Reason for posting would be the highlight of the night. We found a guy dressed exactly like me.

So this is what i have to look forward to in 30 years. It was hilarious. Other than that not much has changed...

Oh! I just bought myself a Christmas present about 30 minutes ago. A 4Gb iRiver Clix Gen2 with Cradle. They had it on sale at $30 off if you bought the cradle so i figured it was perfect.

$209 CAN after the deal. Yea... looks snazzy eh? Its a tiny beast. Well till next time, Ciao!

Back by popular demand. So Jonas brought his camera into work today, and even though he's already uploaded all of his pictures to facebook, he decided to share them with me anyways! Isn't he nice? Take that FB!

Now the thing I love about uploading my pic's here is that they actually save them in full quality. Click on anyone of the following pics to be linked to the original stored at 3072x2304 resolution. The other thing about Jonas' pics is that they're better quality, his camera has a noticeably better lens than mine.

I'll try and post a bit of information about a few of the pics as well.

On the far right of the above pic you can see the chairlift heading to the peak. And just to the right of that the entrance to the Whistler Bowl, which we skied.

Myself and Olivier having an awesome time in this picture.

This is the best photo I've seen, staring Gad.

Can you tell I'm a little tired after a full day of skiing?
4:54PM
Doh! Forgot to upload the 3 vid's he recorded.

This is Olivier flying down a run ( I was in the chalet getting lunch when they went out for this ) this run seems a bit icy at the beginning but it wasn't actually that bad anywhere else.

This is Jonas just randomly boarding down a pretty basic run.

This is Olivier doing a 360 in the stunt park, you cant see the landing but it looks like he skies out pretty clean.

So I went to Whistler yesterday! And I Skied, oh did I Ski! I've got a tonne of amazing pictures to go along as well while i tell the story. Right now my upper and lower back, quads, and calves are destroyed. But its a feeling of accomplishment, i tackled Whistler.

It all started at 6:00AM on Sunday morning. Yea i know soooooo early. I got dressed, and headed out front to meet up with Geraldine. She lives across the street in a neighboring tower, and we walked down a few blocks to Budget. Ok, i lied... I guess this story actually started the day before, because i got my Skis waxed and sharpened at the local SportChek. Surprisingly both cost under $20. So back to Budget, there was 7 of us and we decided to rent a mini-van. For some reason when we got there they gave us a pimped out Explorer.... It was sweet but it was NOT going to fit all of us, so we traded it in for a Sienna. *this turned out to be like $50 cheaper for some reason* We waited for everyone to arrive and piled in.

Here is us packing the Van.

I was super tired on the trip up so i slept a bit on the way there. Here's some pictures of the other people i went up with.

Papa Jonas (he was like the dad driving us kids up to the mountain, lol)

Andra, Olivier, Geraldine

Cesar!

We stopped at a McDonald's on the way up so some of us could grab breakfast. I had got myself a sandwich at Starbuck's just before we left but it was a bad mistake because it made my stomach upset all morning.

We got there and a bunch of people went to get rentals. Myself, Jonas and Olivier already had our own gear and so we decided to head up on and get a few runs while they were busy renting etc. This ended up an an extra hour of Skiing, GOOD CHOICE! Jonas bought a new board the day before... very masculine.

It's white and snakeskin textured ontop.

We decided since we were probably the better 3 skiiers that we should try the challenging runs before we grouped up with the other which would slow us down. I was self-admittedly the weakest of the 3 of us. Olivier teaches at the top ski-school in France and grew up in the Alps. Jonas is from Switzerland and used to work in the swiss alps.

Here's a shot of the 3 of us from the Peak of Whistler when we first got up to the top.

After we finished our first run and got warmed up, we decided to hit the 'Whistler Bowl'. A straight wall black diamond run. Easily the toughest run of my life so far and VERY enjoyable. By the time i got down the first segment, my legs had had too much and i was forced to sit for a few seconds while the lactic acid drained. To get into the run you literally had to step off a cliff down into the moguls. It really was a different level of skiing.

Here's a map of the runs, look up Whistler Bowl, it drop down from the peak

So after 3 runs (= 1 hour) we met back up with the rest of the group and did some more skiing. I got some awesome shots. Including a CRAZY rainbow phenomena in a slightly desolate part of the mountain on a short Diamond section.

Ranbows!
I have a few more rainbow shots. Can upload on request.

Cool Group Shot (Cesar, Geraldine, Andra, Jon)

Cool Shot of Jonas

Geraldine in some Rainbow, and Jon sitting down. After this 1 run his feet hurt too much and he quit for the day :(

SWEET view

I should be a professional photographer, Cesar never looked so cool

One of the few i have of myself that are on my Camera (aren't i good hot) I'm going for the unshaved Ski-Bum look. There are lots more pics of me but they're all on Jonas' Facebook I'm sure.

And so we skied the whole day, the weather in the morning was absolutely fantastic, and it got a bit cloudy as the day wore on. But still an awesome time. Sadly they close down around 3:30PM and we headed back home. By the time we rolled out it was pitch back on the drive back and it was only like 4:30PM.

I may get some more pics later on and continue the post but thats about it. Till next time. Ciao!

So November was a sad month for my blog... just for some reason i never got around to writing on it. Not that i didn't have lots to write about. First if i may, Facebook is partially to blame for me not posting more so and for that i hate it even more.

Originally what happened was i was waiting on some people to send me photos from some events i went to... But seeing as how these people only EVER use facebook, despite me asking them hundreds of times i never got these photos. The pictures you're missing out on include the first Indy concert i went to, Halloween, and then move onto a few other events including some good parties. DAMN YOU FACEBOOK!! I will not fall to your devilish ways.

So I've decided instead to move on and continue posting. I will probably publish a big long post soon summarizing all the cool events I attended in the month of November. Notably i went out partying 3 times this week. And am now poor.

I might as well summarize this week for you! While its still fresh on my mind.

Tuesday
This past Tuesday was a new friend of mine (Andra's) birthday. So Tuesday after work everyone came out and we did a pub crawl. I ended up attending 7 bars, but apparently there was an 8th that was also attended afterwards. It was a great deal of fun and everyone got plenty to drink. We were out starting at 5:30PM after work and stretched onto 2:00AM. As you may imagine... this cost quite a bit cause the average price of a drink in Vancouver is $7.00. Picture will be uploaded as soon as Facebook becomes less gay.

Friday
So Friday had another birthday in line. This time it was my friend Jonas and he was turning 26. Instead of hitting the pub we hit the club, and in STYLE. Went to one of Vancouvers better known clubs (Plush) for a special event. What kind of even you ask? All the DJ's were playmates. By playmate i mean real-life Playboy models. I think that sais enough for itslef, but if it doesn't. It was an excellent party.

As a special present for my friend Jonas, i kindly interrupted a Playboy photo session with one of the girls to ask her for some photos with my friend. Not only did i not get tackled by security but she said sure and came down from the VIP to get all over him for some Priceless photo's. By priceless i mean only Facebook can afford them....

Saturday
Got up nice and early the following morning for my trip to Victoria. Myself and 2 buddies took the 5 hour trip, about 3 hours of bus and 2 hours of ferry. However its surprisingly cheap and the ferry is WAY bigger than i thought. www.bcferries.com if u want a better look. Halfway through the ferry ride while we were in the buffet. We actually manged to get caught in a Gale (there was a big blizzard in Van) and the seas got pretty rough lol. The ship was moving side to side like at least 10 meter difference in height (not gonna lie, i got a headache from the sea-sickness) but you cant blame me, i had just finished 3 plates at the buffet.

So we got down there after 5 hours of travel, we had a room booked at the 4Star Marriot Hotel. Got to our rooms and took a nap for an hour out of exhaustion. Woke up ready to go and rounded the block to find the greatest club I've encountered here in BC. Just absolutely awesome time!

I've got some footage i took with my camera and i will upload soon.

Here is us on the Ferry, we lucked out at this awesome Buffet.

This is us struggling to get the balcony door open. Ugh, i didn't rotate the image...

This is us chillin at the club

This is a video i took at the club, it's actually got more detail but shows up really dark on the PC for some reason... i throw in some disco dance moves at the end too just for camera. Yea this is wierd, i can see it perfectly on my camera LCD.

The next morning we took at suggestion from the concierge at the desk and hit up a super popular breakfast place. It was Delicoius!

Here's my food. mmmmmmmm

Afterwards we went to the Royal BC Museum. It was absolutely awesome... i think i have some photos / videos as well.

This is a sweet one of the Wooly Mammoth. I really caught the atmosphere, lol.

After the museum closed at 5:00PM we decided to head home and headed back. On the way once again we hit Ferry troubles... this time it was a "Security Breach". Apparently it was in the news this morning that someone overheard a Bomb threat in the terminal so they had to delay the ferry while they arrested the "bomber", lol poor guy.

So we got home at around 10PM and that's a quick summary of the past week. I have pictures that i took from the "The Most Serene Republic" concert i went to a few weeks ago and I'll make an entry for that soon. Till then, Ciao!

Dream Log :: 004

  • So I've got a special treat this time. I have actually had several funny / weird dreams lately but haven't really put the time into putting them up here. So today's edition is going to feature 3 dream logs starting with the most recent one from tonight:

Rehab
So last night I dreamed I was in some sort of Rehab Center. A cross between that an an Asylum. I was not alone though, a lot of the people that i work with were there too. I remember logging into the rehab computer system and getting past their "impenetrable" security, which we had actually programmed ourselves at work before being sent to this rehab clinic.

But that day was no ordinary day, we were going on a field trip. Canada vs. Russia (i think) hockey game, and for some reason I was convinced that we were going to be the ones playing representing Canada. When we got to the arena though the game was already going and there was a real Canadian hockey team on the ice. I was really disappointed :(

I remember watching one of the players take a slapshot and his stick bending into an super exaggerated sideways U shape, and everyone was like "Ouuuuuu look at that". I also remember Canada scoring, take that mystery team!

So suddenly the game got boring and now we were on the rink (the rehab people) only now it wasn't an ice rink, in fact the ice was gone. So how could this possibly get better? We were ordering sandwiches (which I've recently learned to spell) and i couldn't wait to get mine. I ordered something really delicious, but i don't remember what it was exactly. What i DO remember is that they totally lost my order!! and i didn't get my sandwich!! I was super mad, so I called over the waiter and was like "Where's my sandwich!?" and he was like oh so sorry sir, I'll go get it... and then he brings me a grilled cheese, NOT WHAT I ORDERED!

I ate it anyways.

So then after that I remember suddenly escaping... or at least running away from the Stadium... bit it doesn't make much sense cause i ran to the Rehab Clinic... but thats ok, cause when i got there they were releasing us anyways. So we all got on a big yellow school bus and left. The End.

Plane Hi-Jacking
So like a few nights ago i had probably one of the more awesome/crazy dreams. I woke up and felt super cool, and entirely confused.

It starts off with me in a plane with an old friend or mine (not sure who) but we've been buddies for a long time. We're currently on a mission saving the world. We've just finished stealing a World War II bomber and we're flying it at low altitudes over a hilly city.

For some reason there are only two ways to control the plane and its in the feature of 2 Dials. They're about the same shape and size as like the old TV dials for channels, except they're smooth and don't click. The first dial controls thrust, and the second one does absolutely nothing... it's clearly broken from being super old.

Now as you imagine, flying a WWII bomber is pretty hard, especially when u can only control it by turning 1 dial. BUT THIS IS A MISSION TO SAVE THE WORLD!! who said it would be easy.

So we turn the dial higher if we wanna gain altitude... not super effective but the added speed makes us rise higher, and vice versa. Apart from the plane controls theres also gauge on the left side of the plane cockpit. Its there to tell you how much girls like you. Seeing as to how we're pulling off this dangerously awesome stunt its gradually climbing.

In the cargo we're carrying some sort of round bomb object... which i can only describe as a "Magnusson Device" sorry if you don't get the reference.

So all of a sudden the landscape is rising and thers a hill, so we crank the thrust and SLLOooooowly climb up and we're like super nervous cuase we're gonna hit the ground but we just make it, and then theres a building so we crank it even higher and we like climb really steep and just up and over the building.... But now we're way too vertical for a WWII bomber and we start to stall, so im like turning the dial with like super expertise... and we just barely pull out of the stall in time. At one point in time the secondary dial adjusts our roll, but only for a little bit.

So suddenly we're coming down really fast and we're going to like smash into this road we're flying over, and I'm like "OH NO!! PULL UPP!!" and i start turning the dial but my friend dives out and yells "NOO" and stops me, and then i realize we're flying under a series of powerlines!!

The girls meter is like going off the scale. (every dream needs one of these things)

And im like "We're gonna crash" and my friend sais "Thats the plan..." and suddenly i realize that the road turning into a pier. And has like poles down the sides of it, so they clip our wings and tear them off and the body of the plane crashes down onto the pier and skids to a stop right in the middle of it near the end.

And then we get out and for some reason... doing this has basically saved the world and all of humanity. So people come cheering and running in our direction. The End.

The Sock
In the third dream that i can remember, i'm putting on this sock... but it keeps getting bigger, so I'm like fine then... and i my foot gets bigger. So the sock gets bigger again, so i expand my foot again! The End.
