So it has been one week since i put in an order for the new motherboard, and i get a call today. They tell me that the reason it's been taking so long is because they ran out of stock and, the warehouse no longer stores anymore of the model i am interested in. Then they start listing off other options that i "might" be interested in...

... i was furious, took two breaths, and asked them to refund the money instead. So back to the beginning -1 week down the drain.

Luckily for me, just about every online Computer Store has its original retail location somewhere downtown Vancouver... I'm not even kidding... look it up. So i called about 3 other shops, all advertising to carry it and "order online". They also didn't have any in-stock. Finally i got a place, and when someone answered the phone they actually knew how to speak English! *I knew this was a good sign*

Score! They carry it AND it's in-stock too! I asked them to reserve one for me despite being reassured they have plenty on their shelves. I've also opted to go for a hike on Saturday and pick it up myself at the store. Saving myself another week of trouble.

So maybe, just maybe. By the end of this weekend all will be well.

Till next time, Ciao!

I got it on the weekend and its awesome. It's now sitting overclocked an extra 750MHz from 1.8 to 2.55 AND recognizing both cores. Also enabled me to manually set ram timings to 2.5 3 3 8 and setup all 4 sticks to run stable at about 180Mhz. FSB boosted to 285Mhz from original 200Mhz. Basically its just plain awesome.

Well I'm still at work. But i planned it this way to make it easier on not seeing my dead computer. As if planned i got a check today for $90, thank you GST return! So like everyone should, i instantly spent it on my new motherboard *maybe the rest of you don't have to buy motherboards*.

Grabbed myself a not to shabby A8N-SLI SE, basically the higher end model of the one i just fried but with an improved chipset, SLI capabilities and the ability to realize theres a Dual Core processor plugged into it... something my previous motherboard failed to accomplish.

It'll take 2 days for CIBC to process the money, then 2 days for the shop to realize CIBC has processed the money, and then another 2-5 days for UPS to deliver it to me. I will admit i coughed up the extra $1.07 and upgraded my shipping from the stock 2-9 shipping days that UPS normally has. So in 6-9 *business* days i'll have my new motherboard ready to install. I hope everything will work then. I do have backup RAM and CPU standing by should the current ones also be lightly toasted.

Well, till next time. Ciao!

Dream Log :: 03

My Keyboard
So this dream occurred a little while ago but i forgot to write it down, i remember it because it was quite funny, imo.

So i was living a casual life, in this world everyone lived in a giant playground with those mini-train cars and all sorts of jungle gyms and stuff. In my house i had my computer and one of my neighbors was Sam. For clarification purposes, Asian Sam from SJU. So i was out one day doing what ever it is that people did, and when i came home i realized that my keyboard from my computer had been Stolen! Yes thats right, someone broke into my plastic miniature house, left the computer and stole the keyboard. Not only that they left a replacement!

It was one of those ergonomic keyboards, the bendy ones. This particular one had a SUPER tiny spacebar too. I HATE these keyboards, they are so annoying to type on! So i try using it and im miss-spelling everything and i can't get the spacebar to work, soeveything isliketh is.

And i loose it!! Turns out Sam was the one that did this *how like you it is indeed, to pull such a cruel prank* and i was super mad at her!

The End.

Soo... lots of people are waiting for me to post about my awesome Thanksgiving weekend in Whistler but BAMM!! Won't be done anytime soon... earlier tonight, roughly an hour ago... my motherboard fried on my computer... yep thats right dead...

I'm back to that shitty laptop again! *curses* and im also trying to plan our a replacement PC / parts without breaking the bank. I did not budget for a PC upgrade and it seems the cheapest way to go Intel will cost me $320. Money i just dont want to spend.

So im stuck with ordering up a replacement s939 board from some wierd online store no-ones every heard of cause all of the mainstream stores don't carry that kinda hardware anymore. We'll see how things go, either way without my VISA yet i'll have to paypal and that will make any online purchase take approx. 3 weeks.

Till then... no Whistler for you ?? Ciao!

I just ate the most EPIC grilled cheese sandwich ever. So good infact i had to dedicate a blog post solely to its delicoius taste! Now I've made lots of grill cheese in the past but for some reason this one was PERFECT. The bread lined up perfectly the cheese didnt ooze out it was all kept in neatly, both sides were cooked amazingly well just to the point before burning but super crisp and light without the nasty taste. JUST FANTASTIC! It tasted nothing short of Godlike, just blissful! This moment has now been documented in history as the night i had the perfect grilled cheese sandwich, a moment i will never forget.

Search sandwitch: Did you mean: sandwich Why yes google, i sure did! best dictionary EVER.
